you shouldn't hear a hissing. the valve system vents the bags through the reservoir block, back through the air dryer, then through a silencer. if you're hearing a hissing then air is escaping somewhere. the "suspension will raise when system has cooled" warning indicates that your compressor is overheating. there are three common issues for this:
Hi All I need some extra brain power. I have just refurbished my suspension compressor changing the piston and cylinder. The compressor starts to run smooth when I first start the car but after about a minute I see that the compressor starts to slow down for 10 seconds then stutters and stops. Code thrown DTC C1A27 Normal Height Only. My 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE has a fault, when I am driving along towing my car trailer with my TVR Race car on the back, after 10 to 15 miles a warning light and bleep comes on, it says there is a HDC fault and then the suspension lowers it's self down. I stop turn things off and it resets it's self and then it happens again 10 to 15 miles later.

For sure if it is down a faulty compressor will prevent the suspension coming back up but it does not cause it to drop - this is a function of valve blocks and the suspension ECU.
Air suspension. Another of the common Land Rover Discovery 4 problems is faulty air suspension. Originally launched as a more utilitarian version of the Range Rover in the 1980s, despite the luxuries, the Discovery line still has features that make it a suitable all-terrain vehicle. One of these is the inclusion of air suspension.

(I assume that you only have one battery in your 3. If not, disconnect the others as well and leave them disconnected until after all is done.) Connect the negative cable to the positive cable. This is part 1 of our video series trying to fix our Land Rover Discovery 3 with faulty air suspension. We look at the fault code and the potentially easy fix of changing the relay. To The IIDtool shows the transmission fault as "U0416-86 (2F) Invalid Data from Vehicle Dynamics control module" * When I start moving I will also get an HDC Fault System Not Available and Cruise Control Not Allowed and the Suspension light will come on and display "Suspension Lowered". It seems to go somewhere in between Access and Normal height. It is important with LLAMS not to be going up and down a lot - select what height you need and leave it there. If you continually get the the message then by all means suspect a fault but the occasional message is quite OK. Garry. REMLR 243. 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6. Thanks in advance for your input. Wife's LR3 has a suspension fault C1 A1 3-64; Pressure doe not decrease when venting gallery. Valve blocks? Pilot Exhaust Valve? or Reservoir Valve Block? I could also use a good pdf download of the repair manual as well. mv UPDATE - FIX. Restart car. No warnings. Drive home, and about 20 minutes later, same fault. Scanned it the next morning with my GAP IIDtool: RLM-Suspension. C1130-66 (6C) Air spring air supply - Algorithm based failure signal - has too many transitions/events. I have a 2010 RRS 5.0 SC that had a suspension fault come up on the dash during normal driving conditions. I used my iid tool and found the following codes. U0421-68 (2B) Invalid data received from ride level control module. U0421-68 (2F) Invalid data received from ride level control module.

I've had my suspension go out of wack before. The suspension or 4x4 screen shows a red blinking bar on the rear right wheel. I had the dealership recalibrate it for a whopping $350 and the issue came back a month later. Save some money and get an IIDTool BT. It's more than a code reader. It can recalibrate your suspension. It also does a whole

I'll only add two points: 1) Get software that can calibrate the suspension (I bought RSW). 2) By the third time I removed/installed the compressor, I could do it in about 20 mins. If you have an impact wrench, follow the extension instructions above but use that for the top bolt.
I went ahead and wired in the Atlantic British EAS reflash module 7980 on my 2008 LR3 with the emu lift kit. The warning light is now extinguished, but still get "suspension fault max speed 30 MPH" on the display, however the +bloody chimes+ are thankfully gone. Suspect disconnecting the ride height sensors will get rid of the display warning.
